Fight clubs throughout the globe is often looked at with distrust, many more so because of the rowdy brawls associated with it. But actually its not only about violence where adults and teens gather in undisclosed garages and underground locations and fight till one is unable to stand no more, some even left for dead. Actually the recent trend noticed in fight clubs that men and women form are rather about masculinity and not simply just fights of revenge and money making.

For some it may sound quite harsh but actually one secret of the fight clubs, well for the men at least is about their self image. More and more competition is growing and especially the blue collared men are not contented with their life styles and job. They no longer feel strong or in control of a situation and in the fight clubs where they can have fights in a say, manly way, sort of pumps up their adrenalin. Getting involved in these fight clubs sort of boost up their egos, where they can work out and compete in a healthy way. Well of course not all thinks so, and disagreements will surface regarding this trend of thought.

Well yes, there are many participating in fight clubs merely for fun and adventure. Some appearing to be very sober, starched collared worker on the outside may be one of the fierce fighters too. Say, in many of the so called fight clubs, the fighters has no real laid down rules by which they have to compete and often, it turns into some fatal end. Whether its fist fights, karate sort of fight, fights with some deadly weapons, participating in this fight club somewhat gives the fighter as well as the audience an opportunity to go beyond; its almost like you have a multiple personality. For the men, it gives them a sense of manliness and power, unchained by any laws and rules. Well of course many of the fight clubs lays down some rules to be followed strictly by the fighters.

Say in the real fight club scenario, men are able to construct identity and meaning in their lives. It's also somewhat of a game where you will have to really fight dearly if you are to win. In the real world, not all are leaders or rich businessmen, many are subordinate to women, and the fight clubs which are considered as raw and real gives them an opportunity to prove themselves through fights. Let's say the secret of fight club is that the fights fill the men's need to test themselves, and that the responsibility to succeed is in the hand of the individual and not the system or the government.
