The term fight club need not necessarily be a club of lawless fighters, discarded lard and bare-knuckled brawls, but there are few sanctioned U.S. Amateur fights which are in a way slightly fairer than the underground clubs. Actually these licensed fight club gyms specify that all participating fighters need to buy a coverage license.

These gyms more or less hosts white-collar fight clubs where slicked-back hairdos and cocktail dressed audience linger about quietly but then soon bouts of alcohol affect the crowd's participation level, thereby becoming a rowdy affair within minutes during the fights.

Young, beautiful girls, retired men above 65 and such are popular participants of the fight club. Being in a real gym and having the protection of license doesn't mean the competitions are just boring tussles. No, in fact they are quite good ones and once the fight gets started, the arena is crowded with huge number of spectators, roaring and encouraging the fighters. Its quite deafening at times, and if you stumble into one such fight, one tends to wonder whether it's an underground one or a legal one. There will be plenty of guffaw's and drinks circulating around the arena.

Yep, these bouts in the gyms are good as a workout but usually the participants of the fight club seemed to be searching for something deeper than a normal athletic release. For many, the high adrenaline that comes with the fighting is what they are actually looking for. Some liken it to the fight as a natural high. And licensed fight club gyms offers them the chance to have a go.
