Tae Yun Kim

The story of Chairman and CEO, Dr. Tae Yun Kim is indeed inspiring for the newbies as well as the expert practitioners of martial arts. For your information she is a woman and was born in a culture that has had deep prejudices against women for thousands of years. Dr. Kim faced all the situations bravely and breaking the traditional barriers she has achieved unbelievable success in her life.

In her childhood she was abused by her family and abandoned during the Korean War. She broke five thousand years of tradition to become the first female to ever study the martial art of Tae Kwon Do. She continued working hard with the technique and went onto attain the rank of Grandmaster, the highest level in the martial arts.

Her successes made Dr. Kim the head coach for the first US Women’s division in 1974 at the Pre-World Games in Seoul, Korea where they won gold, silver and bronze medals. In fact this was the first Tae Kwon Do US woman’s team at the competitive level. Thereafter the women’s team even reached Olympics.

Using martial arts techniques in focusing, directing energy and meditation, Dr. Kim also coached the US Windsurfing team and the Japanese, Norwegian and New Zealand ski teams and demonstrated to each team the power of believing in themselves.

She has even written some popular books on marital arts. Just remember her trademark words, “He Can Do, She Can Do, Why Not Me,” and you will never loose inspiration in life.
