The Real Scenario Of An Asian Fight Club

By: Liz Tomey

Asian countries are well known for its fighting and combat cultures. Whether its karate, kung fu, kick boxing and many others, all these martial arts and forms of fighting techniques are not uncommon for them and its not unusual too that there are many fight clubs where people form all areas have a go at it.

In the underground fight clubs which is usually conducted in secret locations, death is not uncommon. Well yes, no longer fighters really contest with death in mind but then accidental deaths are bound to occur and these fighters clearly know all the risks involved.

The hot spots for the fight clubs like China, Japan, Korea where almost every individual is trained in the fighting technique has thus various fight clubs, mostly underground ones and they really have mean fights. In fact Asian people have a history of fighters using glove-like knuckle dusters fashioned from snail shells to maximize the injury to their opponents in the kickboxing bouts in the last century. These boxers contested till death and there were always a stretcher on hand to carry out the dead.

The scenes in Asia's fight clubs are still quite tough at times. In countries like Cambodia, kick boxing is well known and many young men, pushed by a mixture of poverty and ambition, take up the sport of professional kickboxing, many ending up in the underground ones where no protective garments are used. Professional ones are of course quite successful and less riskier. Others join fight clubs where money's is scarce and the fights are tough. They train to become fighters to feed their family.

The Asians tough indeed and the fighting spirit are ingrained in them. They fight not so much for money but for honor. Winner or losers, all are fighters.

Another area to be kept in mind is that Asia has many poor folks, unable to meet ends meet. Fight clubs gives them the opportunity to fight honorably as well as earn money. In fact there are many fight clubs in every hook and corner. It may be a simple boxing match with proper helmets and gears to kick boxing, karate, to bloody bare fist fights. In these fights its not surprising to have fighters being knocked unconscious, kicked and punched severely to the floor, many are cut, gashed, and gouged, and in one room there will be full of injured fighters before the night is out. The arena will be filled with folks from all sorts of life, back ground and country and the darkened arena will be filled with a claustrophobic mixture of smoke, sweat, blood and yes the exhilarating fans.

The fights are rough, hurtful and severe but also offer quick money for their family. These fight club Asian fighters like everyone around the world will have roughened faces, with at least a broken nose, stitched jaw and such. They fight for honor and also because circumstances compel them to earn a few bucks and it's not really their fault that they are risking their lives everyday. For some it's a passion, some just a hobby or to vent their frustration, for others it may be something else but all are fighters, brave ones.
